  3. SYNTAX:  CHKDSK [d:] filespec [/F] [/V]

  6.      CHKDSK checks the directory of the specified drive for consistency.  
  7. CHKDSK will display whatever errors it discovers and then provide a summary.
  8. CHKDSK won't correct the errors unless you specify the /F parameter.  The /V
  9. parameter will cause messages to be displayed as the disk is being scanned.
